David Watters passed away in England
A fundraiser has been set up to help the bereaved family of David Watters to repatriate his remains to Ballyshannon.
The GoFundMe page was set up on Tuesday by Edel Burke who said: “David travelled to England on holiday to attend a close friend's funeral and sadly took ill.
“Following days in the hospital he took a cardiac arrest and was put into an induced coma, where three days later his sons and daughters had to say their final goodbyes.
“The family are completely heartbroken as David was the glue that held the family together.
“We are looking to raise money for the family to help with getting him home from England, funeral cost and to give them an opportunity to pay off the mortgage of the family home that David built for them when they first arrived in Ireland 20 years ago.”
There has been a generous response to the fundraising campaign to date. As of Wednesday lunchtime, more than €5,000 has been raised.
Anyone who wishes to support the campaign can go to In Loving Memory Of David Watters on www.gofundme.com
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support through a very difficult time.
