Hundreds of people turned out for Darkness Into Light in Letterkenny in the early hours of Saturday.

The annual fundraiser for suicide charity Pieta House was marked in several locations across Donegal.

In Letterkenny, a large crowd gathered at the ATU Donegal campus as participants set off at 4.15am.

The annual event, which is supported by Electric Ireland, raises crucial funds for self-harm, suicide prevention and awareness charity Pieta House.

Darkness Into Light helps raise vital funds for Pieta’s lifesaving work which provides free, professional therapy for suicide prevention and bereavement services, alongside a free 24/7 Crisis Helpline.

In 2023, over €4million was raised.
