Jim Thompson, Carndonagh

The peaceful death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Jim Thompson, 15 Abbott’s Wood, Carndonagh.

Deeply regretted by Ann, his son Caolan, Caolan’s partner Aisling and his daughter Mary.

Sadly missed by his sister Margaret, his brother Anthony, grandchildren Chloe and Aimee, his extended family, friends and neighbours.

Jim will leave Kelly’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh at 6pm this evening Wednesday going to the family home in Glebe, Carndonagh. F93AYH7 where all are very welcome.

Jim will leave there on Friday morning at 10.15am going to Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh for Requiem Mass at 11am and afterwards he will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

Please be advised that one family member has tested positive for Covid-19. All are very welcome at the family home where HSE guidelines are being followed.

Annabel Kelly, Glenswilly

The death has occurred in Letterkenny University Hospital of Annabel Kelly, Foxhall, Glenswilly.

Funeral Mass at 11am in St Columba’s Church, Glenswilly on Friday July 19 with private cremation to follow in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

House strictly private at the request of the deceased please.

Mary Gallagher (née Mc Nelis) Cotteen, Derrybeg

The death has occurred of Mary Gallagher (née Mc Nelis) Cotteen, Derrybeg.

Fuair Mary Uí Ghallachóir as an Choiteann, ach gur as Machaire Chlochair ó dhúchas, bás in Áras Ghaoth Dobhair inniú, 17ú Iúil.

Dhéanfar a faire i dTeach Tórraimh Uí Rabhartaigh sná Doirí Beaga amárach (Déardaoin)) ón 2 a chlog go h-am paidrín ag a 8 a chlog agus arís Dé hAoine ón 2 a chlog go dtí'n 6 a chlog.

Curfar Mary i Reilig Mhachaire Gathlán, Dé Sathairn, i ndiaidh Aifreann Tórraimh ag a 11 a chlog i dTeach Pobail Mhuire sná Doirí Beaga.

The death has taken place in Áras Ghaoth Dobhair of Mary Gallagher, Cotteen, Derrybeg, originally of Magheraclogher, Derrybeg. Predeceased by her husband Hugh (Tood Mhicí)

Sadly missed by her sons; Mícheal & Connie, daughters; Maria & Bríd, sister Delia, in-laws; Sheila, Maureen, Ciarán & Timlín, grandchildren; Hugh, Ciarán Óg, Sarah, Marie, Sinéad, Aoife, Séamus & Neasa and extended family & friends.

Her remains will repose at Roarty's Funeral Home Derrybeg (F92 DN4X) on Thursday from 2pm until Rosary time at 8pm and again on Friday from 2pm to 6pm. Removal afterwards to her son Connie's house in Cotteen.

House private to family only.

Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, July 20, at 11am in St. Mary's Church Derrybeg, interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.

Anne Quinn (née Bryce) Cavan / Carrick

The death has occurred of Anne Quinn (née Bryce) cherished wife the late Pat, Ballinagh, Co Cavan and Carrick. Tuesday July 16, peacefully in the tender care of the staff at Ashbury, Nursing Home.

Loving and much loved mother of Miriam, Michael, Elizabeth, Mark, Deirdre, Grainne and Annette, adored grandmother of her 19 grandchildren and sister to Thérese (Boyle), Séan, Grainne (O'Malley) and the late Liam and Dermot and mother in law to Ottmar, Elizabeth, Austin, Olive, Diarmuid, Ritchie and Adrian, also deeply regretted by her sisters in law, brother in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at the family home Main Street, Ballinagh, Thursday, July 18, from 5pm until 8pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, July 19, at 1pm in St Mary’s Church, Killybegs, interment afterwards in Killybegs Cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to St Vincent de Paul.

Mary McNulty (née O'Connor), Manorcunningham

The death has occurred of Mary McNulty (nee O’Connor) Moneyhaughley, Manorcunningham F92 KR62 formerly Dungloe and The Central Hotel, Raphoe.

Lovingly missed by her husband Al and her daughters Caroline Mills, Diane Sweeney (Liam), Donna Quinn, Rachel Stair (Richie), Michelle Pearson (Paul) all her grandchildren Grace, Jack, Rebecca, Annie-Rose, Harriett, Oliver, Emmett, Pearse, and Liam, great-grandchildren Ethan, Alfie, Eoin, Frankie and Theo, her sisters and brother Bridie, Kathleen (Jack), Jim and Ann (Jake) and all her extended family and friends.

Mary was predeceased by her parents Phil and Madgie O’Connor and Jim’s wife Ann McFadden O’Connor and Bridie’s husband Brian Boyle may they all rest in peace.

Mary will be reposing at her late residence Moneyhaughley, Manorcunningham today Wednesday, July 17 for wake to take place from 6pm and all day Thursday.

Family time please on the morning of the Funeral.

Funeral cortege will be leaving her late residence on Friday morning July 19 at 10.10am going to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe for 11 o’clock Requiem Mass followed by Cremation service in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 3pm.

Jane Whitters, Moville

The death has occurred of Jane Whitters, Carnagarve, Moville F93 X76D. Predeceased by her husband John and her daughter Mary. 

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her son-in-law Mark,grandsons Killian and Kai, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours.

Jane's remains will leave Eamonn McLaughlin's Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh, F93 E4FN today (Wednesday) at 5pm going to her home in Carnagarve, where you are welcome to pay your respect's, with visiting from 12-3pm and 6-9pm.

Funeral from there at 10.30am on Friday Morning (July 19) for 11am Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, Ballybrack followed by Interment in Ballybrack graveyard.

Patrick (Pat) Murphy, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at his late residence of Pat Murphy,Ardan Gaoithe, Carn, Ballybofey F93 R2C8. Beloved husband of Rosalene and much loved father of Teresa, J.J., Eamon, Christina, and Roisin, cherished brother of Margaret, Nora, Liam, Michael, Annie, Sean, Carmel, Brendan, Bernadette, and the late Gerry. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Remains reposing at his home on Wednesday, July 17, from 11am. Funeral leaving his home on Friday, July 19, at 10.15am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am.

May Doherty (née Gallagher), Letterkenny

The death has taken place at Hillcrest Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 16 2024 of May Doherty, neé Gallagher, ‘Bellvue’, Convent Road, Letterkenny F92 E5W5 and formerly from Swinford, Co. Mayo.

Deeply missed by her loving daughters Patricia and Assumpta, sons John, Bernard and Diarmaid, sons-in-law Stephen and Patsy, daughters-in-law Dolie and Deborah, grandchildren and great-grandchild, brother Tommy (America), sisters Annie (Swinford), Lena (Ballina) and Chris (Dublin), nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

May is predeceased by her husband Barney (2001), daughter-in-law Noreen (2006), brother Sean Gallagher and sister Peggy Rothwell.

May’s remains will be reposing at her late residence on Wednesday July 17 until 10pm with Rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Thursday July 18 at 10.30am going to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed live on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny.

Interment afterwards in Conwal Cemetery. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Sarah Carlton, Rossnowlagh / Edmonton, Canada

The death has occurred of Mrs Sarah Carlton, formerly of Rossnowlagh and Edmonton, who passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024. Predeceased by her dearest husband Robert Carlton, brothers Hugh James (Oodie) Kelly of Rossnowlagh and John Francis Kelly of Rossnowlagh and Glasgow. 

Dearly loved Aunt to Frank, Hugh (Roslyn), Bernadette (Duncan), Lewis and Fraser. Deeply missed by all the Kelly family, extended family relatives, neighbours and all her friends in Edmonton, Scotland and Ireland. 

Funeral will take place in Edmonton, Canada.    

Roseanna Lawler, Castlefin

The death has occurred at her home in Kenton, Harrow, London of Roseanna Lawler, née Crawford, formerly The Raws, Castlefinn.

Beloved wife of Des, much loved mother to John, Claire, Siobhan, Gerard and John Honney, devoted grandmother to John, Conor, Ethan, Isabelle, Oisin, Evelyn, and Éabha , cherished sister of Frances, Charlie, John, Jean, also the late Seamus, Eddie and Marie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her husband, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, daughters in law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at the residence of her sister Frances Mc Menamin, Carrick, Castlefinn, F93 TX24, on Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Thursday at 11.30am for Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Castlefinn at 12 noon. Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/urneycastlefinnparish

Jim Larkin, Letterkenny and London

The death of Jim (James) Larkin, Shepherds Bush, London, formerly of Lower Main Street, Letterkenny. Jim passed away peacefully at home with his loving children present, after an extended period of poor health.

Adored father to Caroline, Amanda and Alan and grandfather to Erin, Lea and Chloe; much loved by Nath, Gavin and Damian and siblings Jack Larkin and wife Marian, Elsie Cavalli, Terry Larkin, Adrian Larkin, Kevin Larkin, Louie Breslin and husband Barney, Joan McGettigan and husband John, and Brendan Larkin.

Jim will be sadly missed by his in-laws Gerry and Chrissie Kenny, Vera and Phil Dapas and Rita Dolan, godchildren Jenny MacDonald and Paul James, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. He is predeceased by his loving wife Laura, his beloved parents Mary Ellen and Jack, siblings Frances Larkin, Dorothy Scudi, Billy Larkin, Celie Whitmore, Al Larkin and Sr Marian Larkin.

Jim will repose in Barnes and Hicks, 123 Askew Road, Shepherds Bush, London, W12 9AU on Thursday, July 25 from 1pm till 3pm.

Removal to the Holy Ghost and St Stephen Church, Ashchurch Grove, London, W12 9BU at 10.45am with Requiem Mass at 11am on Friday, July 26. Burial will take afterwards at Mortlake Cemetery, Clifford Avenue, London, SW14 7BU.
