Pedestrian hospitalised with serious injuries following Mountcharles collision

Gardaí are advising that the village's Main Street remains closed to traffic

A man has been brought to hospital with serious injuries after a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in Mountcharles in the early hours on Tuesday.

Gardaí remain at the scene of the road traffic collision at Main Street, Mountcharles.

Garda Sean Sweeney confirmed: "Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at that location.

A man was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries sustained during the collision. No other injuries were reported."

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. Any road users who were in the area at the time between 4am and 4.40am and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballyshannon Garda Station on 071 9858530, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
