Castle Adventure Open Farm
Planning permission has been granted to add glamping pods at an open farm in Ballyshannon.
The Castle Adventure Open Farm has been given conditional planning permission for works at the amenity at Ballymacaward, Ballyshannon.
Hugh John and Mary Patton sought permission for the erection of five glamping pods and a roofed barbecue area.
The open farm is located on the grounds of Wardtown Castle.
A kids toy jeep track will also be developed as part of the works.
The application provides for the installation of a septic tank with secondary and tertiary reed bed, piped to infiltration area and disposal area.
Donegal County Council granted permission, subject to 17 conditions.
The glamping pods shall not be sold but shall be occupied for short-term letting periods of less than 90 days and used solely by patrons of the parent Castle Adventure Open Farm as holiday accommodation and shall not transfer ownership to individuals without prior written approval of the planning authority.
All waste associated with the development shall be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner and off site at an authorised/licensed facility.

Other conditions to cater for orderly development, traffic safety, flood prevention, road draining and the preservation of the amenities of the area are included by the local authority.
