The Donegal Hospice will benefit to the tune of around €15,000 from the proceeds of Sean O’Donnell’s big birthday bash.
The Termon man hosted a 40th birthday with a difference at Mary Mac’s bar in Kilmacrennan on December 29.
A variety of fundraisers ran in conjunction with the big night and the upshot is a healthy boost for the Hospice.
The final sums are still to be tallied, but the graph is nearing the €15,000 mark.
“I would like to thank everyone for their unbelievable support,” Sean said. “In the region of €15,000 was raised and I’m very happy about it.
“I can’t thank people enough for their support. We will have a cheque presentation again in Mary Mac’s in a few weeks’ time.”

A bumper crowd turned up with the big attraction a raffle of a prized heifer from Charlie Bonner’s. The heifer was won by Ryan McBrearty.
A €500 prize on a take your pick competition was won by Tony Morning.
A successful auction, run by Robbie Morning, helped boost the coffers. There were 10 prizes on offer on the night with generous sponsorship coming from all quarters.
Isobel Rodgers, the Chairperson of the Donegal Hospice, was among the huge crowd.
Jason McCahill, the winner of TG4's Glór Tíre in April, provided the music while former Donegal GAA player Brendan Devenney acted as MC for the night.
