Paul Harron
A fundraiser has been launched to aid a Donegal Town man who sustained life-changing injuries in a road-traffic collision.
Family and friends have rallied around Paul Harron, who was seriously injured on New Year’s Day.
A recently-qualified electrician from Donegal Town, he is now paralysed from the waist down and faces a long recovery.
He is currently under 24-hour care in ICU in the Mater Hospital, Dublin, where he will remain for an extended period before moving to the spinal unit for specialised care.
This will be followed by intensive physiotherapy in Dun Laoghaire.
Friend John Paul Byrne has launched a GoFundMe, Supporting Paul’s Road to Recovery, which has already raised over €20,000.
He said: “This fundraiser has been setup to support the Harron family with travel, accommodation and rehab expenses as there will need to be a family member staying in Dublin with Paul at all times.
“Paul has a long journey ahead of him. Any support will go directly towards Paul’s recovery, whether it be through a donation or by simply sharing this fundraiser.
“If anyone is uncomfortable making a donation on GoFundMe and wants to contact the committee they can do so privately through the contact button on this page.”
