The re-opening began on Tuesday, January 28 when the main car park, Visitor Centre and Lough Insagh trail opened.

A spokesperson took to social media to say: "The lakeside walk will reopen from the Visitor centre as far as the lower garden gate but the gardens, castle, view point trail and Derrylahan trail remain closed.

"Furthermore, the Glen trail is open from the head of the Glen/Glendowan as far the upper garden gate, but there is no through access via the garden or castle to the visitor centre/main car park.

"As the clean-up operation progresses we aim to fully reopen over the coming days."

Updates will be shared on the Glenveagh National Park Facebook page
