“Due to the lack of support for last year’s event, we simply cannot move forward with plans for 2025. This decision was not made lightly, and it comes with deep disappointment for our committee and the wider community.
“Over the past 14 years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting some truly incredible festivals, made possible only by the generosity and commitment of our local sponsors, partners, volunteers, and supporters.
To our many sponsors, too numerous to name individually, thank you for your unwavering support over the years.
“To the agencies we’ve worked with, including Donegal County Council, An Garda Síochána, Fáilte Ireland, Donegal Town Community Chamber and others, your collaboration and assistance have meant so much.
“To the countless volunteers who gave their time and effort so freely, and to everyone who showed up year after year to celebrate with us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
“A special thank you to all the incredible bands and performers local and national who brought music, energy, and unforgettable moments to the stage. Your talent and spirit helped make the festival what it was, and we are truly grateful.
“To everyone who offered their understanding, encouragement and support, especially through a difficult time last year, sincerely, thank you. Your kindness has meant the world to us.
“What a small group of dedicated local volunteers has been able to achieve over the past 14 years is nothing short of amazing. Though this chapter is coming to a close, the six of us on the committee will continue to support our town in whatever way we can.
“We are incredibly proud of all that the Donegal Town Summer Festival has brought to our community, and we are deeply grateful for the memories, the music, and the magic we’ve shared together over the past 14 years.”
With heartfelt thanks,
The Donegal Town Summer Festival Committee
