A number of branches of the emergency services along with local volunteers worked together to rescue a person who got into difficulty at Lower Lough Salt.

The incident occurred on Monday evening, April 21.
A spokesperson for Donegal Mountain Rescue Team (DMRT) outlined the operation, saying: “At 21:00 on Monday, April 21, Donegal Mountain Rescue Team responded to an incident at Lower Lough Salt near Termon following tasking by the National Ambulance Service.
“The multi-agency response included Advanced Paramedics, a Critical Care Doctor, Milford Fire Brigade, Rescue 118 helicopter from Sligo, and local volunteers providing transport assistance.
“Upon arrival, Fire Brigade and NAS crews had already begun casualty extraction. DMRT supported with high line operations for safe helicopter transfer. The casualty was airlifted to Letterkenny University Hospital.
“We thank all agencies and local helpers involved in this successful rescue operation. Our thoughts are with the casualty and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.”
