The historic Malin Hall has gone up for sale again, with a €825,000 asking price.
It was listed for sale only 11 months ago at a substantially higher price of €950,000.
The classic protected seven-bed period home dates back to 1758, when it was initially constructed for George Harvey, the High Sheriff of County Donegal.

This property comes with 5.1 acres and provides breathtaking views overlooking Trawbreaga Bay, while boasting three reception rooms, a conservatory, seven bedrooms (including two en-suites), a full basement, garages, and a disused swimming pool.
The Harveys were significant landowners in Donegal, owning estates of some 25,593 acres in the county in 1876. They retained ownership of the iconic Malin Hall until George Miller Harvey (born 1908) sold it in 1973 to Kathleen and Michael Connolly.
Then, with 100 acres, the Connollys’ vision was to create a location where those in housing need could enjoy their twilight years in a warm, secure environment.

This dream was realised after the untimely passing of Kathleen in 1999, and now the Connolly Foundation offers independent living for the over 60s in Malin in need of housing. The foundation also, in particular, welcomes applications from emigrants wanting to return to their native Ireland.
Malin Hall is accessed via a 400-metre split laneway through the Connolly Foundation development. The stunning property may be viewed on Franklins estate agents' Facebook page.
