The former proprietor of the Millstone Hotel in Ballyshannon has died peacefully at her home in Cashelard, Ballyshannon, surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Ardara, Mary celebrated her 100th birthday with a gathering of family and friends in Whoriskey’s Travellers’ Rest, Cashelard on St Patrick’s Day.
Mary passed away in the exceptional and gentle care of her carers on Wednesday, May 7.
She was the beloved mother of Herman (Sen), cherished grandmother of Nollaig (Clay), Aoife, Herman Jnr (Liz), and Sorcha (Eugene). She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, her adored great-grandchildren, Kathy and extended family, her dear godson, kind neighbours and very dear friends. Mary is predeceased recently by her daughter-in-law Mary J McNelis.
Funeral Mass will take place in St Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon on Saturday at 11am, followed by interment in St Mary's cemetery, Cashelard. The house is strictly private.
The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed and may be accessed on St Patrick's Church webcam.
