Duffy Brothers plant and civil engineering contractors of Lisfannon have been appointed as the lead groundworks and civils contractors for a major new social housing project that will build 95 new homes in Cabra in Dublin's north inner-city.

The landmark project, located on 2.03 hectares of land generously gifted by the Dominican Sisters, is being delivered with the support of Dublin City Council, the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage and the Housing Finance Agency.

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Emma Blain, Minister for Housing, James Browne, local Dublin city councillors and the Dominican Sisters joined with contractors on site on Thursday to officially turn the first sod and mark the beginning of the development.

In addition to high-quality housing, Blackbird Park will feature over 7,300 square metres of landscaped public open space, a public green area, children’s play facilities, and two dedicated community rooms to support strong, connected neighbourhoods.

This development marks Focus Housing’s largest scheme to date, and Duffy Brothers say they are pleased to play a key role in getting the project off the ground.
