An aerial view of Downings
There are plans to develop a new glamping facility in Downings.
Pacific Construction Ltd have submitted a planning application in respected of the proposed development at The Atlantic Drive, Downings.
If granted, it would see the erection of five glamping pods together with an ancillary communal facilities building.
The application also provides for the installation of a proprietary wastewater treatment system, a landscaping scheme, access and parking and associated site works.
Donegal County Council say that a decision will be made by September 4.
A planning statement, submitted with the application to the local authority, outlines that the development is planned for a 1.48-hectare site around 800m from the main settlement of Downings.

It says that the subject proposals “supports the tourism initiatives as well as the housing priorities for the area.”
