Donegal supporters have been subjected to motorway tolls on their way to support their team
Donegal senator Manus Boyle has made a call to have motorway tolls removed for the All-Ireland SFC final on Sunday week.
Donegal will take on Kerry on Sunday, July 27, at Croke Park in Dublin after respective semi-final wins over Meath and Tyrone.
The toll for the M3 is €1.70 for motor cars between Cavan and Dublin, where most of the south Donegal traffic would go, while those from the north of the county pay €2.30 between Ardee and the capital.
The final will be Donegal’s 11th championship game this summer, with just three in Ballybofey. The side managed by Jim McGuinness has played in Clones, Co Monaghan, three times, Roscommon, Cavan and at Croke Park twice since April.

“Maybe it could be arranged for the national tolls to be done away with on Sunday for those travelling from Donegal,” Senator Boyle said.
“We have to pay for everything, and it would be great if we could get through and down to Dublin without paying tolls. It is a costly day for every family, and there will be four or five from every house travelling. I do not think there will be anybody left in Donegal. They will all be down. It is a proud day for Donegal, and I am delighted that the team is in the final.”
