Donegal Olympian Kelly McGrory has announced her engagement to fellow Irish athletics star Thomas Barr.
The Laghey woman and Barr, a three-time Olympian from Waterford, became engaged during a recent trip to Corfu, Greece.
McGrory, wrote on Instagram: “Corfu will have a place in my heart forever. And so will you Thomas Barr!”
The Tir Chonaill AC athlete added: “In our fiance era whoooo.”
McGrory competed at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, going in the qualifying heats of the women’s 4x400m relay alongside Sophie Becker, Sharlene Mawdsley and Phil Healy.
She also competed at the 2023 World Championships and the 2019 European Games.
Barr won gold in the mixed 4x400m relay at the 2024 European Championships in Rome alongside Christopher O’Donnell, Rhasidat Adeleke and Mawdsley.
At the 2016 Olympics in Rio and the 2022 European Championships in Munich, Barr placed fourth in the 400m hurdles.
Irish athletes have been rushing to congratulate the pair.

Fresh from her superb silver medal in the heptathlon at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Kate O’Connor wrote: “Yayyyy huge congrats guys.”

“Mom and dad are getting marriedddd,” Becker said.
