Water outages in Lettermacaward due to mechanical issues at water treatment plant

It is the second disruption to the water supply in the area in recent weeks that  has been caused by an issue at the water treatment works

'Pump failure' could impact water supply to north Louth areas

Uisce Éireann said said it is arranging for alternative water supplies to be made available locally for affected customers

Homes and businesses in the Lettermacaward area have been affected by water outages due to mechanical issues at the local water treatment plant.

Uisce Éireann said on Wednesday morning that its crews are responding to the issue, “which will result in supply outages for customers in Lettermacaward and the surrounding areas”.

“As a result of mechanical issues at the plant, reservoir levels have fallen and this is impacting supply to homes and businesses in the area,” Uisce Éireann said.

The utility is arranging for alternative water supplies to be made available locally for affected customers and further information on the location of these will be communicated shortly.

It is the second disruption to the water supply in the area in recent weeks that has been caused by an issue at the water treatment works.

Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said work is ongoing to resolve the issue and restore normal supply as quickly as possible.

“We acknowledge the impact of unplanned outages such as this and we assure customers affected by this outage that we are doing all we can to bring supply back to normal levels as quickly as possible,” said Damien.
