The Order of the Knights of St Columbanus held their Stated Annual Meeting in Donegal over the weekend.

The weekend culminated in a closing Mass celebrated by Bishop Donal McKeown in St Patrick’s Parish Church, Crossroads, on Sunday at noon.

Knights from across Ireland gathered for the Supreme Council 2025 to review the past year’s activities and plan for the year ahead. The national AGM took place in Jackson's Hotel, Ballybofey on Friday and Saturday.

The weekend’s events reflected the order’s enduring mission of promoting Christian values in public, professional, and private life.

The Order of the Knights of St Columbanus is a lay Catholic organisation founded in Belfast in 1915 by Canon James O’Neill. Inspired by St Columbanus, the sixth-century Irish missionary monk, the order is dedicated to the spiritual, intellectual, social, and charitable development of its members and to the promotion of the Catholic faith through practical action.

The Knights operate throughout Ireland, supporting a wide range of charitable causes and initiatives, often working discreetly behind the scenes to assist those in need.

Their annual Supreme Council meeting serves as both a time of reflection and renewal for members, reaffirming their commitment to living out the Gospel message in everyday life through faith, fraternity, and service.
