The Donegal Association Dublin held their Annual General Meeting on Sunday, November 16, in The Bonnington Hotel, Drumcondra.
For the year ahead, Carndonagh woman Peggy Stringer takes over as President and Siobhán Shovlin from Ardara as Chairperson.

"Both are long-standing committee members and we wish them well in the year ahead," members said. "The committee extend our thanks to outgoing President Elaine Caffrey and Chairperson Kevin McFadden for their outstanding commitment and dedication to the association. We are delighted to welcome back Ailbhe Kelly to the committee.
In taking up her new role, Peggy Stringer said it is an honour and a privilege and she thanked Elaine for her service and how it is ‘big shoes to fill’. She also thanked Kevin for his commitment in the role of chairperson and expressed her delight that he will still be on the team going forward.
The association thanked the media in Donegal for publicising events to wider audiences throughout the course of the year and for attending our functions and promoting all that we do.
The search is on for the next Donegal Person of the Year. The closing date for receipt of nominations is November 30. Any individual or any group may nominate a person – the main criteria being that the person nominated should be from Donegal and have made a significant contribution to the promotion of the county at local, national, or international level. Nominations may set out the reasons for the nomination and may include supporting documentation and endorsements from individuals and groups.
