The Henderson sisters

Three young sisters Convoy stole the hearts of viewers nationwide this week when they appeared on RTÉ’s The Big Pet Project.

Eva, Sophia and Alana Henderson were accompanied by one of the most eclectic collections of family pets you’re likely to find in Donegal.

Eva, Sophia and Alana took centre stage as they introduced their crew: everything from a fruit-loving bearded dragon to a head-bobbing lovebird.

The sisters from Knockagarron showcased Spike, their four-year-old bearded dragon, who the girls proudly explained has a taste for fruit and veg and, on his more adventurous days, enjoys a leisurely wander around the grass.

Then came Unicorn, their guinea pig, and Birdie the lovebird also made his television debut, charming viewers by bobbing his head in perfect rhythm whenever the girls sing around him.

Buddy, the elderly pet ram, needs a little extra care these days, something the girls take great pride in providing.

The Henderson home is also abuzz with their own bees.

The sisters explained how a little smoke helps keep the bees calm and relaxed, making them easy to work with. “The best thing about bees is you get honey,” they smiled.
