Heritage Organisations Support Fund now open for applications

The Heritage Organisations Support Fund, which provides financial support to not-for-profit non-governmental organisations working in the heritage sector, is now open for applications.

The Heritage Council scheme enables heritage organisations to fund staff salaries, rent costs, hiring new staff, training and skills development, and piloting new ways of working.

“The Heritage Council supported two County Donegal-based heritage organisations in 2025”, explained Joseph Gallagher, Heritage Officer. “The Brian Friel Trust and the Inishowen Maritime Museum were successful under the scheme, which provides funding up to a maximum of €50,000 per organisation."

Organisations submitting applications must demonstrate either regional or national relevance and undertake actions that support the delivery of national policy and plans.

A full overview of eligibility criteria and other relevant details is available from the Heritage Council’s website. Applications can be made online on the Heritage Council’s grants management system until 5pm on Monday, January 26, 2026.
