End of an era as teen recruit John Coleman prepares to sign off from AIB after 45 years

After over 45 years of service, John Coleman is set to retire from Allied Irish Bank in January.

The Galway native joined AIB at the age of 17 and has been a Regional Manager since 2014.

He arrived in Donegal in 1996 and served as branch manager in Gweedore and Raphoe. In 2014, he was appointed as a Regional Manager and, based in Letterkenny, covers Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim.

On Monday night, he was joined in Letterkenny by some ex colleagues to mark his impending departure from the role.

John spends a lot of his time walking and has already pencilled in a six-week trip to cover the 1,000km Via de la Plata Camino Route from Seville to Santiago de Compostela in March.
