The new shop will be situated on the grounds of St Patrick’s Church in Derrybeg
A new charity shop is set to open in West Donegal.
The Bridge Charity Shop - An Droichead - is situated beside St Patrick’s Church in Derrybeg and will open to the public this afternoon.
With clothes of all sorts and sizes, new and second-hand and something for everyone, Right Reverend Andrew Forster will perform the official opening today at 3pm.

“Hello everyone, you're very welcome to An Droichead,” says Norma Burns, who along with her husband Arthur, are two of those behind the initiative. “Away back in July or August, we started collecting clothes, got the parishioners to collect old clothes and we got so much stuff that and so much of it - it was good and even brand new that we decided we'd have to keep it. We couldn't send it for recycling and that's when the idea of a charity shop kind of came about.
“Then this little hall was available, it wasn't being used anymore and we thought that this would be a good place to have our shop.
“Bishop Andrew is coming to officially open An Droichead, so if you're free, do come along. There will be light refreshments afterwards and you can have an opportunity to have a wee browse and see what's on offer. We will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 o'clock in the morning to three in the afternoon. So I hope that we will see you soon. Slán agus beannacht.”
