Customers may experience supply disruptions over the course of the day
A water treatment plant in west Donegal has been affected by power interruptions.
Uisce Éireann is warning customers in the Falcarragh and Gortahork areas that operations have been impacted at the local water treatment plant.
The utility said that while a generator is in place on site, the power interruption has caused mechanical issues at the plant.
“These issues are currently being investigated and resolved by Uisce Éireann crews,” Uisce Éireann said.
“Customers may experience supply disruptions over the course of the day as crews work to restore normal operations at the plant.”

Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said: “We are aware of operational issues at the water treatment plant following power interruptions earlier today. Our crews are actively working to investigate and resolve the issues. We regret any inconvenience this situation may cause and want to assure customers that our team is working as quickly as possible to get the plant back into production and allow reservoirs recharge.”
Uisce Éireann says registered vulnerable customers receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
