Kick For A Cause St Stephen’s Day match raises money for two local charities

Representatives presented members of the Good and New Cancer Bus organisation with the cheque at Fintra

A charity football match played in Fintra by Killybegs players past and present has raised almost €4,000 for two local charities.

"As part of our Kick For A Cause St Stephen’s Day match, fundraising took place for two valuable and incredibly important causes," Killybegs GAA posted. "Main bucket donations on St Stephen’s Day were collected with the intention of donating funds raised to the Good & New Donegal Cancer Bus.

"Representatives from the organisers of the football match Owen Gallagher and Shaun Gorrell, along with one of the managers on the day, Charlie Tully, presented members of the Good and New Cancer Bus organisation with a cheque for €2,735. Player €10 play fees were donated to the Killybegs community Christmas Lights Fund, which totalled €1,060. A huge thank you to all involved and all who supported on the day, with their generous donations!"
