Bridget would like to thank everyone for celebrating with her on her 100th birthday
An Arranmore woman who celebrated her 100th birthday last month has raised a whopping €4,725 for local charities.
Bridget Ward celebrated the great distinction of being the first lady on the island to reach the great milestone of and enjoyed her party surrounded by many family members and friends at Ionad an Chrois Bhealaigh, where an enjoyable day was had by all. She didn't want any presents or money. Instead, people could donate the way in, and it would go towards the charities of her choice.

Bridget would like to thank everyone for celebrating with her on her 100th birthday.
"To everyone who travelled to be with me, sent cards, donations, gifts and good wishes," she told Denis O'Donnell, the Arranmore local notes correspondent. "I was overwhelmed to raise €4,725, and this will go a long way to help the Island charities. Arranmore FC, Arranmore Lifeboat, Arranmore Day Centre, Arranmore Pipe Band, CFFAM Arainn Mhór and the graveyard fund all benefited from your incredible generosity."
