President Catherine Connolly’s engagements have been confirmed for her upcoming Donegal visit.
The president will visit Killybegs, Lifford and Letterkenny on Tuesday and Ardara on Wednesday morning.
On the first day, President Connolly will open the International Creative Jam, highlighting the importance of youth-led innovation in sustainable economic development and the crucial role young people have in shaping the future of the Atlantic Blue Economy.
Following on, President Connolly will attend an event at Donegal County Council, before she spends the afternoon in Letterkenny at Cara House Family Resource Centre and the Donegal Travellers Project. Cara House promotes health and well-being through offering social, recreational and educational activities.
The ambition of Donegal Travellers Project is to work for equality and human rights for Travellers, Roma and Black Minority Ethnic communities through their education programmes, primary health projects, and community development work. “We are delighted to have our work acknowledged by the president and the visit is particularly timely as we prepare to celebrate 30 years this summer.”

On Wednesday, President Connolly will visit the Ardara Community Childcare Centre and the facility is encouraging people to come together in support.
“We warmly encourage local schools, community groups, clubs, businesses and families to line the streets and help create a warm Ardara welcome as the President arrives. Your support will make this day even more memorable for the children and for our town.”
Although this the first visit as Uachtarán na hÉireann, she came and met with families affected by the Creeslough tragedy and homeowners affected by the defective blocks crisis during her campaign.
President Connolly went on to have a landslide victory in the election, taking 63% of the votes cast and claiming 75% of the vote in the Donegal constituency.
