The Downstrands Family Resource Centre has reassured families and individuals that they can avail of funding throughout the year.
To get things going, Barrie’s Portnoo Market Garden has donated €500, and he is using their considerable online following of almost 1,000,000 - 310,000 followers on Facebook and 650,000 on Instagram - to get behind the appeal.
“The Barrie Quinn Fund is available to individuals and families throughout the year,” Downstrands Family Resource Centre say. “Food vouchers, electricity credit, home heating oil and essential household items can be requested.”
Items and supports above can be requested by individuals and families by calling or texting Niamh on the confidential number, 087-6202508.
The Downstrands Family Resource Centre sincerely thank Barrie Quinn and all who have donated to the fund.
“Your generosity ensures families are kept warm, supported and cared for during difficult times,” they say. “With the growing pressure on families trying to keep the heat on, lights on, pay bills and keep food on the table, supports like this are needed now more than ever,” Glenties-based county councillor Brian Carr of Sinn Féin posted. “The FRC rightly thank Barrie in their post, and I am sure many more will be thanking him too. Well done, Barrie.”
