Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy
A recommendation has been made to display a picture and description of future planning notices by Donegal County Council.
The suggestion was brought to the special plenary meeting by Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy in a bid to create more transparency and public awareness of ongoing projects.
“When projects are being done in any area or town in the county, that there is a description and a picture up for the public to know what is going on behind the scaffolding,” Cllr Kennedy said.
“Because it does create an awful lot of tension and upset and rumours start. So I think to be helpful, the public should be made more aware of what is going on regularly.”

Mr Brendan O'Donnell, Senior Engineer at Donegal County Council, responded that it is a fair point and “something that the department is not that good at is publicising and telling people what we’re doing all the time. We take on feedback and will certainly look at doing that.”
