Sharon Lynch from Glenties has once again captured a stunning photo in south-west Donegal.

In late 2023, Sharon set off on her bike one morning at 7am to capture Glenmacannive, and it was certainly worth the early rise, as she caught the rising mist spectacularly, with the photo crowned the winner of RTÉ's Weather Photo Competition.placeholder image

This time, there was a springtime feel as Sharon was out on her bike again and her photograph was announced as one of the runners-up on the latest RTÉ competition and featured in the RTÉ Guide.

"The photo was taken on a spring evening on the Gweebarra Bridge in Lettermacaward," Sharon told Donegal Live. "I was out for an evening cycle, and the soft light was perfect."

The RTÉ Weather Photo Competition continues to be as popular as ever, offering amateur photographers and the general public alike an opportunity to showcase and share their talent. Photos are used as a backdrop for the RTÉ Weather bulletins and in the ever-popular calendar, which is published every year.
