Dungloe Wind Action Group remind locals of imminent planning deadline

The community is concerned about the impact the proposed wind farm will have on the health of people and farm animals in the area, the possible health effects on turbine blades' infrasound on schoolchildren in the catchment area
The Dungloe Wind Action Group has reminded supporters of the deadline to stop the repeated application to erect five wind turbines in the townland of Cronashallog close to the town boundary.
The local community is concerned about the impact the proposed wind farm will have on health of people and farm animals in the area, possible health effects on turbine blades infrasound on schoolchildren in the catchment area, the lasting impact on unspoiled scenery which adds value to tourism in the region, on endangered animals such as multiple bat species and white tailed eagles which are frequently observed in the area following successful reintroduction program.
The original planning application was submitted in September 2025 and subsequently withdrawn by the applicant in December 2025.
A new application for the same development is now under consideration by the local authority, with the decision due on June 15, 2026. The last day for online submissions for planning application number 2660692 for the industrial wind turbines is Monday, May 25, and the deadline for posting is Wednesday, May 20.
