The dog is in the care of gardaí in Milford
Gardaí in Milford are appealing for the owner of a dog brought into their care to get in touch.
Posting a picture of the dog on social media, a garda spokesperson said: "This lovely wee lady was found wandering around the Bridge End area of Ramelton this evening and was almost hit by a car.
"A kind passerby contacted Milford Gardaí who then collected her and took her into their care.
"That's a day for the ducks, not the dogs and so we would love to ensure that she gets back to her owner this stormy night.
"She is wearing a pink patterned collar. If you own her, please contact Gardaí in Milford on 074-9153060. Proof of ownership will be requested."
