The Coast Guard R-118 helicopter took part in the search operation
A number of kayakers have been rescued after a search operation was launched in Mulroy Bay.
The alarm was raised around noon on Saturday by two members of the group who made it ashore.
An operation was launched to locate the rest of the group who had been blown offshore by strong winds.
The Mulroy Coast Guard and the Coast Guard R-118 helicopter were tasked to the scene.
A spokesman for the Coast Guard’s Marine Rescue Coordination Centre at Malin Head said a number of the group were rescued and brought ashore while others made it back to shore unaided. Those that were brought ashore were met by HSE paramedics.
