Nicole and Gartan National School pupils at the party
When Nicole Russell and Eric Moore tie the knot tomorrow, Friday, in St Columba's Church, Churchill, it will not only be a red-letter day for the happy couple, it will prove that love conquers all - including Covid!
Nicole from Churchill and Eric from Letterleague, Letterkenny had originally scheduled their wedding to take place in October 2020 but it had to be postponed because of the Covid-19 restrictions on gatherings which would have meant only six people would be allowed to attend.
At that time Nicole's colleagues at Gartan National School where she works as a Special Needs Assistant decided they were going to surprise her with a party to make up for the postponement and so they did and it was a touching affair.
Well, history repeated itself on Tuesday as principal Ann Gourley, staff and pupils came together again to organise another surprise 'send off' for Nicole. They had a special assembly which included music, a small party, and a wedding gift.
Principal Ann said they wished Nicole and Eric the most magical wedding day and much love, laughter, and happiness for their future together.
“We're all sending love and happy wishes to our wonderful SNA and beautiful bride-to-be Nicole as she finished up in school to make the final preparations for her wedding day this Friday. We couldn't be happier for her.
“We also wish our fabulous secretary and mother of the bride, Pamela, a wonderful few days ahead as she takes some well deserved time off to enjoy this special time with her family,” she said.
