A positive result in the battle against drug driving
A motorist caught driving under the influence of drugs has been arrested.
A concerned member of the public contacted gardaí on Thursday night in relation to the manner and speed at which a car was being driven on the outskirts of Letterkenny town.
The Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit responded to the call and stopped the car in question. The driver was arrested as they tested positive for cannabis and cocaine.
A small quantity of suspected cannabis was seized following a search of the car. Court proceedings will follow.
A spokesman for the gardaí urged the public not to hesitate in contacting them if they ever observes dangerous or careless activity on the roads.
