From Monday, November 21, there will be no GP service available from the health centre in Dunkineely, but the HSE has said that it is only an "interim arrangement".
The HSE in Donegal has told donegallive.ie that it has advertised the vacant position "and are working hard to recruit a permanent replacement doctor for the area".
"At this time however this process has not been finalised and an interim arrangement has been put in place," the HSE said.
From Monday Dr Charles McManus will provide cover for GMS patients from the Health Centre in Glenties until a full-time GP service is returned to Dunkineely, they have confirmed.
Please note that if you need to visit the GP in the area you should call 074 9557811 to make an appointment.
The HSE has apologised for any inconvenience this arrangement may cause, but has stressed that this is only an interim arrangement and it is hoped there will shortly be a GP service returned to Dunkineely Health Centre.
