An Garda Síochána is conducting a road traffic operation over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Gardaí will be on the roads carrying out high-visibility checkpoints and speed checks, which commenced this morning and will continue until next Wednesday. The advice issued is to slow down, wear your seatbelt and refrain from using your phone while driving.

“We appeal to drivers not to ever decide to drive under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The consequences of drink/drug driving, speed and other poor driving behaviour can be devastating. We hope that you all have an enjoyable and safe bank holiday weekend on and off the roads.”
