Eamonn Kelly and Conor Mohan get lift off in Finland

Eamonn Kelly earned a stage win at Rally Finland on Friday morning.

The Frosses man, in a Ford Fiesta Rally3, was the fastest driver over SS3, Saarikas 1.

With Conor Mohan on the pace notes, Kelly completed the stage in 8:08.5.

In the Junior World Rally Championship category, Kelly is now in second spot, behind Sweden’s Johansson Mille, also in a Fiesta Rally3.

The margin is just 1.2 seconds while Kelly has a 4.9-second buffer on Turkkan Ali from Turkey, who is just ahead of New Zealand’s Gill Taylor.

Kelly was third overall in the Junior WRC at Rally Sweden.

"I felt we were slightly slow at the start and there was hanging dust on some of the very quick corners, but it's brilliant to get a stage win here in Finland,” Kelly beamed after SS3.
