Over half a million euros has been raised to help the victims of the horror stabbing incident in Dublin and the Deliveroo driver who intervened.
Two GoFundMe pages set up to raise donations for the children and the care assistant attacked outside a school in Parnell Square on Thursday are closing in on a quarter of a million euro.
The 'Support For Children & Carer Attacked In Dublin' page has so far raised €218,567 at the time of publication, while a fundraiser for a young girl who is fighting for her life after the attack has raised just shy of €20,000.
A GoFundMe campaign titled 'Buy a Pint for Caio' encourages people to contribute the cost of a pint as a gesture of gratitude for the hero Deliveroo driver Caio Benicio, who's swift response saved a young girl from the knife-wielding attacker, has surpassed €330,000.
Mr Benicio said he took his helmet off and hit the man in the head with it “with all of my power”.
GoFundMe say they are monitoring fundraisers set up in the aftermath of the attacks and unrest in the capital.
"Riots broke out in Dublin on Thursday 23 November in the wake of a stabbing attack outside a school that injured three children and an adult.
"The GoFundMe community is coming together and fundraising to help those hurt in the attack – and those who intervened.
"Our Trust & Safety team will continue to update this page with more fundraisers as they are verified."
