The island of Ireland will be able to see a partial solar eclipse on Monday, according to astronomy experts.
BBC Sky at Night Magazine has reported that on 8th April, 'the penumbral shadow crosses western parts of the UK and Ireland', giving Irish astronomers a chance to see a part of the eclipse event.
The eclipse will start around 7:55pm across the country, and will first be visible in Mayo and other western counties. Onlookers are warned to not look directly at the eclipse, as it can be damaging to your eyes.

Only the first part of the eclipse will be visible from here because the Sun will set before the eclipse will reach its maximum phase. A total eclipse will be visible in areas of the United States and Canada.
Ireland last saw a partial eclipse on October 25, 2022.
