'I was in complete shock' - Ireland's newest millionaire claims life-changing Lotto win

One lucky Irish Lotto player has scooped up over €1 million in the Lotto Plus Million Euro Raffle.

The Dublin player finally claimed their prize of €1,000,500 on Wednesday at the Lottery HQ after purchasing their winning ticket online shortly before Christmas.

Ireland's newest millionaire won the phenomenal prize through playing the Lotto Plus Million Euro Raffle which is a special draw where winners can win an extra €1 million on top of their €500 win.

Overcome with joy, the lucky winner said: "When I got the call from the National Lottery, I thought they were looking for the €500 back – I was in complete shock to find out I had won €1,000,000 on top of the €500.

"I called the rest of the family and simply told them -'You’re speaking to a millionaire!'"

When they were asked how they'd spend their winnings, the player said: "We have plenty to keep us busy with family holidays, weddings and newborns all on the way this year. There will also be a few signs here and there!"

Clearly, Dublin players are enjoying a winning streak as another Dubliner won €46,813 after matching 5 numbers and the bonus in last weekend's main Lotto draw.

Also claiming their prize this week, the player said: "I have not been able to sleep a wink since finding out I have won. I only told my son yesterday when I rang him and asked him if he was free today – I told him it might be worth his while! Little did he know we were heading to Lottery HQ!"

Not a bad way to kick-off 2025!
