Two people hospitalised following crash in north county Sligo

The male driver of the motorcycle (aged in his 20s) was conveyed to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries and female passenger in the car (aged in her 60s) was conveyed to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward

Two people were hospitalised following a serious injury road traffic collision on the N15 near Cashelgarran, Grange, Co. Sligo, on Sunday.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a car which occurred shortly after 8pm.

The male driver of the motorcycle (aged in his 20s) was conveyed to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A female passenger in the car (aged in her 60s) was conveyed to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

“The scene has been preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators,” a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said. “The road is currently closed. Local diversions are in place.”

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the N15 near Cashelgarran, Grange, Co. Sligo on Sunday, April 19, 2026 between 7:40pm and 8:10pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sligo Garda Station on 071-9157000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.
