Brendan Boyce had a fine outing over 20k in Slovakia on Saturday.

The Finn Valley AC man, a three-time Olympian, finished 16th in one hour, 24 minutes and 46 seconds.

Boyce was competing in the 20k race walk at the Dudinska 50, a World Athletics Race Walking Tour Gold level meeting in Dudince.

The Milford man's previous best over the distance was the 1:24:32 he clocked in Podebrady, Czech Republic in 2019.

The Irish Championships were held as part of the race with Boyce second. His Irish colleague David Kenny bettered Boyce by just six seconds, finishing in 1:24:40.
