Kathryn McDevitt and the Ireland 4x100m relay team have been named among the European Best Masters for 2022.

The European Masters Athletics Council made the announcement of the award winners.

Letterkenny AC woman McDevitt was part of the Ireland W40 4x100m relay team that claimed gold at last summer’s World Masters Championship in Finland.

McDevitt was joined by Avril Dillon, Snezana Bechtina and Sinead O’Regan on the team.

The Irish quartet finished in 48.80 seconds.

McDevitt was also part of the 4x400m team that won gold in Tampere.

At the recent World Masters Indoor Championships Torun, McDevitt, Bechitina and O’Regan, alongside Bernadette Spillane, won bronze in the 4x200m relay, clocking 1:50.65,
