Mark English returned to winning ways on Saturday evening.
The Finn Valley AC athlete won a men’s 800m at the Watford Grand Prix, a British Milers meet.
At a windy Woodside Stadium, English won in 1:47.26.
The Letterkenny native, a four-time European medallist, stormed down the back straight to take victory ahead of Dan Howells (1:47.66) and Tom Keen (1:47.75).
At a Continental Tour Gold meet, the Paavo Nurmi Games, in Finland recently, English came tenth in 1:50.29.
His season’s best in 2023 remains his 1:46.53 from Meeting de Montreuil in France
In early May, English finished seventh at the Diamond League in Doha in a time of 1:48.56 after illness had forced his withdrawal from the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul
