Ballyshannon swimmer Cora Rooney competed at the LEN European Junior Swimming Championships this weekend.
Rooney, who has just completed her Leaving Certificate examinations at Colaiste Cholmcille, was in action in Belgrade, Serbia.
Rooney was part of an Irish squad led by Andy Reid and supported by coaches Fran Ronan and Andrew Addison.
In the 50m backstroke heats on Tuesday, Rooney placed 32nd, finishing in 30.22 seconds.
In Wednesday’s 50m freestyle heats, Rooney placed 58th when going 27.54 seconds at the Milan Gale Muskatirovic Swimming Centre.
Rooney swims for the Enniskillen Lakelanders and his coached by her mother, Sinead Donagher, at the Finn Valley Leisure Centre.
At the inter-provincial schools championships earlier this year, Rooney won gold in the 100m backstroke and 100m butterfly as well as bagging a pair of relay silvers.
