Bonner would add a second as they ran in eight goals and 10 behinds, in a comprehensive victory. She previously played with Greater Western Sydney Giants for two seasons back in 2019 and 2020.
Earlier this week, there was a rather novel and heartfelt moment when Bonner's place in the starting team was confirmed, with her daughter Bríd giving her the nicest of surprises, which was captured by the Crows' social media team.

Meanwhile, Niamh McLaughlin, the Donegal captain from Moville, was making her first appearance Down Under, for Gold Coast Suns against Carlton Blues.
The Suns kicked the game’s final three goals, narrowing the deficit from 23 points to just two with minutes to play, but were unable to quite reign the Blues in, losing out in the end on a 34-32 scoreline.
Castlefin's Tanya Kennedy is on the books for Sydney Swans, who open their campaign against Greater Western Sydney Giants on Sunday.
