Four-time European medal winner English was eighth on Wednesday evening when running 1:46.64 at the Palio Citta' della Quercia in Rovereto.

At the recent World Athletics Championships in Budapest, English clocked a season’s best 1:45.14 to finish seventh in his semi-final.
In his heat, the Letterkenny native clocked what was then a season’s best time of 1:45.71 to finish fourth despite being bumped by Jamaican athlete Navasky Anderson during the first lap.
