Dylan Browne-McMonagle was second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf
Letterkenny jockey Dylan Browne-McMonagle had a second-place finish at the prestigious Breeders Cup on Saturday.
Browne-McMonagle took Mountain Bear from the back of the pack to second in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California
The Donegal man had three rides at the meet.
The Juvenile Turf was won by Unquestionable, with Ryan Moore in the saddle. Browne-McMonagle rode well to take Mountain Bear beyond My Boy Prince for second.
He was also sixth on Lumiere Rock in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf and 11th aboard Broome for in the Longines Breeders' Cup Turf.
The Champion Apprentice in 2021 and 2022, Browne-McMonagle will spend this winter in Australia, where he’ll ride for Ciaron Maher, a Melbourne Cup-winning trainer.
