Raphoe Boxing Club hosts its 35th anniversary tournament on Sunday evening.

Beaten Irish Elite middleweight semi-finalists Cathal McLaughlin and Cody Lee Peoples will clash in one of the headline acts at the Deele College sports pavilion.

The stylish McLaughlin, the Raphoe puncher who won an Irish senior title recently, lost out to Joshua Olaniyan in Saturday’s Elite semi.

Peoples, of the Flow Academy in Ballykelly, lost his semi to reigning champ Christopher O’Reilly and will look to upset the odds in Raphoe on Sunday evening.

Raphoe’s blond bomber, Taylor Parke, who has won two Irish titles this year, will face Two Castles’ three-time Irish champ Daithi McNamee.

Elsewhere, Raphoe’s Ryan McDaid and Twin Towns’ Joey O’Hara clash in an all-local joust while Ryley Doherty meets Oakleaf’s Tom McDaid.

HSK Box Cup gold medallist David Tennyson squares up to St John’s man Barry Óg Convery with Gary McNamara head-to-head with Conor McKenna.

In the other confirmed bouts, Tyler Keaveney faces Rowen Doherty (St Bridget’s), Jack McElroy is up against Blake Hunt (Flow) and Danny Doherty goes in with Patrick Merman (Bishop Kelly).

Sunday’s tournament, in conjunction with Stephen Dolan Scaffolding, gets underway at 6pm. Admission is €10 and €5 for under-16s and OAPs.
